ABOUT THIS RING

More than just diamonds and geometric shapes, Art Deco jewelry was also influenced by exciting new archeological discoveries in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, and this arresting ring is an intriguing representation of that influence. Crafted in 14K gold by Newark, New Jersey jeweler Jones & Woodland (who also created jewelry for Tiffany & Co.), it features an oval cabochon turquoise with a striking matrix, supported by shoulders carved with Egyptian pharaohs. The side gallery depicts salamanders symbolizing the god of the sun, Ra, and ibis birds, which represent Thoth, the god of wisdom, the moon, and magic. History—and magic—for the wearing. Currently ring size 7 1/2.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
