ABOUT THIS RING

All the jeweler needed was a bit of blue and a sprinkling of diamonds to create this elegant and easy-to-wear Edwardian ring. A glistening .38 carat navy blue emerald-cut sapphire provides a pop of color in the center of an octagonal halo, pierced to create crisp geometric shapes that shimmer with old mine, European, and single-cut diamonds. The lovely combination is supported by a scalloped side gallery and sleekly tapered shoulders, while milgrain edging adds the finishing detail. Total diamond weight, .28 carat. Hand fabricated in platinum over 18K gold, circa 1915. Currently ring size 5 1/4.
