Fleur de Lys Enamel and Diamond Brooch by Riker Bros.
50-1-11110
ABOUT THIS BROOCH
A most popular design motif, appearing on everything from textiles to jewelry, the fleur de lys--a stylized lily flower--was used in the coat of arms of many monarchs, especially by the French, prior to the French revolution. This brooch by Newark, New Jersey jeweler, Riker Bros.--circa 1890-1900--presents a delightful and diminutive version colored with glossy forest green enamel and glittering with a band of bright European-cut diamonds. The perfect touch of ornament for a beret, or create a 'coat of brooches' by wearing it with a mix of other pins. Hand fabricated in 14K gold.
