ABOUT THIS BRACELET

This breathtaking early Art Deco wrist bauble, by way of 1920s France, centers on a gleaming, ultra-deep midnight blue (verging on black) rectangular sapphire, weighing approximately 4.50 carats. The intriguing gemstone is adjoined on each side by tapering platinum links outlined with lively royal blue calibre sapphires that border glittering bright white single-cut diamonds. The stunning 2 7/8 -inch-long centerpiece transitions to classic geometric platinum bracelet links. An early, all original Art Deco delight. As is often the case, the calibre sapphires are a mixture of natural and synthetic (during the 1920s- 30s, synthetic stones were used for their color consistency and flawless clarity, with the differences between them and their natural counterparts discernible only with a microscope). Center sapphire accompanied by a gemological report from GIA stating: No heat, origin not stated. Total sapphire weight - 7.25 carats, total diamond weight - 1.00 carat. 7 1/8 inches long.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
