ABOUT THIS BROOCH
This early-Art Nouveau foliate motif brooch of French origin (imported to the Austro-Hungarian Empire) is a striking composition of contrasting elements that, together, create beautiful dimension and a sense of graceful motion. Hand fabricated in silver over 18K gold, the elaborate, highly stylized whiplash design glitters with bright-white rose-cut diamonds and entwines two dainty sprigs of leaves in lustrous bloomed 18K yellow gold. The French hallmarks attest to the quality craftsmanship of this utterly exquisite jewel. Circa 1890 - 1900. Total diamond weight, .90 carat.
