ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
The first satellite - Sputnik - was launced in 1957 by the Soviets and was almost immediately depicted in American jewelry - a fitting tribute to our anti-capitalist cold war comrades. This golden bauble was made shortly thereafter in the early 1960s and is studded with 20 different gemstones, including: pink and green tourmaline, citrine, garnet, aquamarine, amethyst and zircon, from gem locations around the globe. This particular sphere measures 1 inch in diameter.
