ABOUT THIS RING

A petite, precious and pristine collectable - circa late-1700s ~ early 1800s - featuring a glowing trio of oval cabochon garnets. Hand crafted in 18K yellow gold, the white enamel inscription reads: "MARY LEARY OB 19 AUG 1781 AEI Y 10 M". The AEI stands for Affinity, Eternity, Infinity or Amity, Eternity, Infinity. In other words, the love that I have for you will last through all eternity and into infinity, or I will love you forever and ever. It is also believed by some that these initials originate from the ancient Greek, translating as “for now and forever” - aei, aiei or aion). This delicate keepsake is now and forever ring size 4 and can not be sized.

Georgian Jewelry

True antiques, Georgian jewels are the earliest pieces in our collection. Lovely foil-backed stones in mixed-metal settings were made to shine by candlelight over dinner and in the drawing rooms of their genteel wearers. Many pieces were made in memory of loved ones or as “memento mori”—literal reminders of mortality that Georgians saw as sophisticated, rather than morbid. While the delicacy of Georgian era settings has been replaced by more modern methods, the cuts and styles have continued to fascinate jewelry lovers.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
