Lacy Art Deco Diamond and *Sapphire Dinner Ring
10-3-14157
ABOUT THIS RING
Intricately pierced filigree work distinguishes this original Art Deco dinner ring hand fabricated in platinum around the zenith of the Art Deco period - circa 1925. A central sparkling European-cut diamond, weighing .40 carat, radiates outward with 2 kite shape and 2 triangular synthetic* sapphires and 8 smaller European-cut diamonds enlivening the border. A hand engraved upper ring shank adds the finishing flourish to this distinctively stunning Jazz Age jewel. Currently ring size 4 1/4. *Back in the day, circa 1920s-30s, due to their uniformity of color and flawless clarity, synthetic sapphires were considered a modern improvement over their natural counterparts, besides the fact that the virtually undetectable differences are only discernible with a microscope.
