ABOUT THIS RING

This large and lavish oval black opal with it's spectacular canvas of shimmering blues and greens is reminiscent of an Impressionist masterpiece by Monet. The opal, which we estimate to weigh between 14 and 15 carats (but appears much larger) is dramatically presented in a platinum setting of buff-cut sapphires and emeralds with a tad of diamond accents reminiscent of Louis Comfort Tiffany's stained glass windows. This exceptional ring was produced by none other than Peter Truman, the chairman and scion of the estimable London jewellers, W. Truman Ltd. This supreme example of jewelry artistry measures slightly more than one inch in length by 3/4 inch wide. English hallmarks.

About Art Deco Jewelry

Sleek and modern, Art Deco design brought jewelry into the machine age. Yet these stylish pieces still found room for the fine forms and lines of previous eras within their elegant architecture. In particular, we see many peaceful co-habitations of Edwardian and Art Deco styles together.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
