ABOUT THIS RING
By the former San Francisco based jeweler, Albert Samuels Company*, this sleek late-Art Deco/Mid-Century band ring, hand fabricated in platinum circa 1930s, gleams in the center with a trio of slender baguette diamonds bordered all around with tiny glittering single-cut diamonds. Classic fishtail settings adorn the side gallery. .45 carat total diamond weight. Currently ring size 4 1/2.
*Born and raised in San Francisco, Mr. Samuels graduated from Lowell High School and the University of San Francisco, and then joined his father, Albert Samuels, in the jewelry business, which was originally on Fillmore Street. The store, known as "The House of Lucky Wedding Rings," moved from Fillmore Street to a spot on Market Street, near Fifth Street, now occupied by Nordstrom and other stores. In February 1915, the elder Samuels installed his clock in front of the store, in honor of the opening day of the Panama-Pacific International Exposition. In 1941, when Samuels moved his jewelry store across the street to 856 Market Street, next door to the Flood Building, the clock followed, and it has been standing there ever since.Details
