Here's something quite striking in a Toi et Moi (or Mot et Toi) ring. Dating back to the distinctive 1940s Retro period, the artfully sculpted ring, outlined with tiny twinkling full-cut diamonds, showcases a pair of beautiful stones: a bright and shining European-cut diamond weighing 1.05 carats (accompanied by a GIA Diamond Grading Report stating: K color - VS2 clarity), and a radiant red round ruby, weighing 1.33 carats (accompanied by a GIA Gemological Report stating: Natural Ruby, Madagascar origin, Heated (minor residues). We know the ruby is a replacement stone as rubies were not yet discovered in Madagascar when this ring was made. A chic uniquity. Substantially rendered in gleaming two-tone 14K gold. Currently ring size 6 1/2.
