Retro Lariat Knot Necklace
90-1-13858
ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
Jewelers in the 1940s were creative and resourceful--and they had fun! When platinum was declared a strategic metal during WW II, craftspeople made the most of gold and all of its amazing properties. Tubogas or 'gas pipe' jewelry was made from gold strips wrapped tightly together, forming flexible hollow tubing that was relatively light but luxurious and heavy in appearance. This gleaming gas pipe lariat necklace, with its cool texture and springiness, curves around your neck and loops into a nifty cone-tipped knot. You won't be able to keep your hands off of it. Hand-fabricated in 18K gold, it measures 16 inches (excluding the knot).
