Shibuichi is the highly respected, age-old technique of crafting silver and copper to create object d'art for decorating Japanese Samurai swords. When the Japanese government banned the wearing of Samurai swords in 1877, shibuichi was introduced to the western world. The brooch shown here is from Gumps of San Francisco and features a Samurai horse shibuichi positioned on an 18 karat yellow gold custom made setting. The brooch measures 2 inches in length and is in very good condition.
