ABOUT THIS BROOCH

"I want to capture the irregularities of the universe. I observe nature and find verve." This quote from French jewelry designer Jean Schlumberger perfectly expresses the unique and imaginative designs of his creations. The first designer hired by Tiffany & Co. allowed to sign his work, Schlumberger's pieces are characterized by his use of yellow gold, bright gemstones, and vibrant enamels. Evocative of an exotic tropical flower, this stunning brooch gleams with three papaya-colored coral beads in fanciful foliate-like settings, accented by a trio of small pearl-centered blooms. Fantastique! Brooch crafted in 18K gold, clip section is 14K gold.

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
