ABOUT THIS BROOCH

Like sun-kissed drops of Caribbean seawater, the vibrant and vivacious zircons in this extraordinary vintage brooch (dating back to the turn of the 20th century) glimmer with a glorious electric blue hue. The focal piece is the center round stone, weighing 3.50 carats, that casts its color from within a rope-edged bezel that is encircled by a halo of small seed pearls, framed in turn by small midnight-blue sapphires. Accompanied by a pearl-encircled oval zircon on each side, the tantalizing trio is embellished with brightly burnished vine-like scrolls, accented north and south with a single shimmering pearl. Sublime. Total zircon weight, 12.50 carats. Hand fabricated in 14K rosy-yellow gold. 1 7/8-inch wide. Condition note: gemstones show wear commensurate with the age of the piece.
