ABOUT THIS JEWELRY

"Never copy, only create." That was the motto of the Cartier brothers from which they never wavered, and the spirit of that creed is evident in this resplendent and ravishing Mid-Century brooch and earrings set. The brooch--a feather, or a leaf (you decide)--is exquisitely fashioned in an open design with slender strands of smooth twisted gold, and accented throughout with exceptionally white and sparkling clear round brilliant-cut diamonds, while three glimmering cornflower blue Ceylon sapphires (the top stone exhibiting a slight color shift) add glorious color. When a set is in order, clip on the delightful matching earrings. A unique and captivating Cartier creation--just for you! Total diamond weight - 2.90 carats, total sapphire weight - 3.25 carats. Hand fabricated in 18K gold (brooch) and 14K gold (earrings), diamonds set in platinum. Both signed Cartier. Earring sapphires accompanied by a gemological report from Stone Group Laboratories stating: Five of the six sapphires show no indications of thermal enhancement. One stone undetermined. Ceylon (Sri Lanka) origin. Brooch sapphires accompanied by a gemological report from Stone Group Laboratories stating: Natural. No indications of thermal enhancement. Top stone has a slight color shift. Ceylon (Sri Lanka) origin.

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
