ABOUT THIS BROOCH

The Butterfly Effect: when the addition of a single--and extraordinary--element of adornment transforms your entire ensemble. Be prepared for such a metamorphosis when this rare and wonderful butterfly alights on you. Masterfully hand fabricated in picturesque mottled natural Burmese jade, carved with a lush foliate motif, the intriguing insect is distinguished by its gold antennae and abdomen, and by its luminous cultured pearl eyes. Two textured gold crescents add a dash of gleaming detail to this eye-catching mid-century vintage jewel. Accompanied by a gemological report from Stone Group Laboratories stating: Natural. No Indications of Polymers or Dyes. Myanmar (Burma) origin. 14K gold.

About Mid-Century Jewelry

Mid-Century jewelers gave the Victorians a run for their money when it came to variety—with the added bonus of big, bold gems in every shape, size, and color. Themes of previous eras were made fabulous enough to match the optimism of the post-war world. Transitional pieces bridged the gap between the first and second half of the 20th century.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
