In his poem, “Endymion,” John Keats declares that, “A thing of beauty is a joy forever...,” a line that can aptly be applied to this most exquisite locket. The circular, diamond centered pendant displays a translucent light dusky blue enamel, shimmering over an elaborate engraved pattern - aka guilloche - encircled by white enamel,12 luminous seed pearls, and embellished with fleur-de-lis accents. Suspended from a delicate cable chain, the pendant opens to reveal a double locket display. Circa 1900 and très jolie! Monogram engraved on reverse side, “DESB.” In 14K gold, it measures 1 by 1 5/8 (including bail) inches. 18-inch chain. The maker's mark indicates by Allsopp-Bliss of Newark, NJ.
