ABOUT THESE EARRINGS
Dating back to the 1870s (circa 1867-1872 according to the hallmarks), these rare and ravishing survivors from the late great Austro-Hungarian Empire (Vienna, Prague or Budapest perhaps), measuring 1 3/4 inches long (they drop a bit further from the ear wires), glint in the center with a pair of light-catching rose-cut diamonds accented with black enameled buttercup settings. Minute braiding and intricate hand engraving contribute to the classic Victorian era ornamentation. Hand fabricated and warmly patinated 14K yellow gold.
