Antique Diamond Cluster Ring with Black Enamel

ABOUT THIS RING
More than likely of French origin, this fabulous nineteenth century ultra-sparkler is crowned with one-and-a-half-carats of bright white antique cushion and old mine-cut diamonds, all of which are displayed in fanciful 18K gold settings. The cushion-shaped top, measuring 5/8 inch in both directions, is dramatically outlined in jet black enamel. A chic and sophisticated Victorian-era (or first decades of the Third Republic) jewel. The currently size 7 ring shank is 14K gold, hence it was replaced at a later date.
