Antique Filigree Peridot, Pearl and Diamond Lavaliere, Circa 1900
ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
A jubilant 2.40 carat peridot, the color of fresh spring-green leaves, is the sparkling focal point of this light, airy and altogether alluring lavaliere necklace. The vibrant gemstone shines in a surround of elegantly worked filigree, adorned with shimmering seed pearls and lively old mine-cut diamonds, and connects to a perfectly complementary long-short cable chain by way of a diamond-centered stylized lotus element. Adding motion below is a pretty piece--evocative of a mermaid's tail--dotted with pearls and a single diamond that swings back and forth. Hand fabricated in 14K gold, circa 1900. 2 1/2 inches long, the chain measures 14 1/4 inches. Note: one of the pearls is a replacement.
