Austro-Hungarian St. George And Dragon Necklace
90-1-13623
ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
St. George--the Patron Saint of England who, according to legend, was revered for his bravery in slaying the vicious dragon that once terrorized a 12th century town--is bedecked in colorful armor and represented in full slaying glory on this extraordinary and intriguing pendant of Austo-Hungarian provenance (circa turn-of-the-20th-century). With spear in hand, he stands astride the formidable beast--exquisitely crafted with a shimmering blister pearl for a body and a neck and tail colored with electric green enamel (his back side bearing a beautifully rendered scalar pattern)--ready to end his reign of terror once and for all. This tale told with gems is embellished with a blister pearl drop and suspends from sterling silver chain that adjusts to 18 inches.
