ABOUT THIS JEWELRY
This lovely hunting case pocket, or pendant watch with a key-wind movement hails from the third decade of the nineteenth century and was made by Breitling-Laederich, reputedly owned by Charles Auguste Breitling, the uncle or grand father of Leon Breitling, the founder of the renowned and still thriving Breitling Watch Co. Both sides are thoroughly and densely decorated with fine engine engraving; unfortunately, only a small amount of the original black enameling remains. However, it now adds to the antique look of the watch.
