ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

Evocative of a lantern in form, this fanciful pendant emanates its own lovely light courtesy of sparkling lovely lime-green peridots and bright colorless beryl (from the same mineral family as emeralds and aquamarines) in a plethora of shapes--pear, oval, round, square, and octagonal. A small bloom of beryl stones and a larger flower, with peridot petals and a beryl center, are connected by swags of fine gold chain accented by bezel-set beryls and peridots. For a final flourish, a pear-shaped peridot dangles below. A rare and cheery and most distinctively charming jewel. Total gemstone weight, 6.22 carats. Hand fabricated in 15K gold (hence of British origin), circa 1900. 14K gold chain measures 18 inches.
