English Victorian Double Diamond-Headed Snake Ring, Circa 1885

ABOUT THIS RING
Wily reptile or symbol of everlasting love? Both! To express his love for Queen Victoria, Prince Albert himself designed an engagement ring in the form of a serpent with ruby eyes, diamond accents, and an emerald-crowned head (Victoria's birthstone). These clever serpents, hand fabricated in 18K gold with each glittering with a bright old mine cut diamond, have coiled themselves in an endless circle. Whatever meaning you assign, the ring is unequivocally cool and quintessentially Victorian. Total diamond weight, .30 carat. Currently ring size 10. English hallmarks, circa 1885.
