ABOUT THIS RING

Symmetry. It's well-balanced and predictable. Asymmetry, on the other hand (or on any hand) intrigues the eye with its imbalance. And so it is with this arresting estate ring. A stunning 1.55-carat deep blue Cambodian* sapphire is accented, in icy white contrast, by an asymmetric array of flashing baguettes, marquise diamonds, and a pair of round brilliant cuts. Even the shoulders refuse to line up—they sweep up and down, giving support to this captivating composition of vibrant color and sparkle. Total diamond weight, .55 carat. Currently ring size 6 1/4. GIA gemological report states: No heat. Cambodian origin. *Of all sapphires, the silken, velvety quality and cobalt blue hue of Pailin (Cambodia) sapphires most resemble the rare, prized sapphires from Kashmir, and this enchanting gemstone is no exception.

About Estate Jewelry

Though it calls to mind grand manor houses in the English countryside, “estate” is just a fancy way of describing any piece of jewelry with a previous owner. That’s pretty much everything in our collection. We tend to use “estate” to refer to pieces in our collection with a more modern or contemporary design, or vintage-inspired designs. These perennial gems are selected in harmony with our original antique and vintage pieces…they’re just a little bit younger!

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
