Estate Natural Turquoise and Diamond Necklace
90-1-13674
ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
Turquoise has the oldest documented history of all gems. First used in Mesopotamia, there are beads that date back 5000 years. For the Native American Apaches, following a rainbow resulted not in a pot of gold but of turquoise, and it was thought beneficial in aiding the accuracy of a hunter’s aim. In the 21st century, turquoise continues to make a fabulous--and eye-catching--statement as this striking jewel proves. Folded woven 'ribbons' of gold--each accented with two brightly sparkling round brilliant-cut diamonds and single cabochon turquoise--link together creating a beautifully dimensional necklace that culminates in a pendant of gleaming, vibrant robin's egg blue cabochon turquoises, a curvaceous pear shape that dangles from an oval stone. For a lovely balance, the clasp is set with an oval stone. The beauty of turquoise lives on, and its story continues with you. Total diamond weight, 1.00 carat. Crafted in 18K gold (clasp is 14K), circa the second half of the last century, it measures 16 inches. Pear-shaped turquoise accompanied by a gemological report from Stone Group Laboratories stating: Natural. No indications of polymers or dyes.
