ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

Big oysters, big beautiful pearls. Tahitian pearls form in the black-lipped oyster (Pinctada margaritifera). Incredibly large, often measuring 12 inches across and weighing up to 10 pounds, these impressive mollusks are found in the waters of French Polynesia. Here, thirty-three Tahitian pearls—with a dark silvery hue and a subtle purple overtone—are interspersed with bright 14K white gold beads, all creating a dramatic strand to drape your neck. Wear it alone to stunning effect, or take a cue from Coco Chanel, who said, "A woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls." Hint, hint, we have more. Pearls range from 9 to 12.5 mm. Measures 19 1/2 inches.

About Estate Jewelry

Though it calls to mind grand manor houses in the English countryside, “estate” is just a fancy way of describing any piece of jewelry with a previous owner. That’s pretty much everything in our collection. We tend to use “estate” to refer to pieces in our collection with a more modern or contemporary design, or vintage-inspired designs. These perennial gems are selected in harmony with our original antique and vintage pieces…they’re just a little bit younger!

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
