ABOUT THIS BROOCH

This fabulous UFI (unidentified flying insect), artfully sculpted in 18K yellow gold, is intricately adorned and detailed throughout with a glowing dusky red cabochon garnet abdomen, a sizable old mine-cut diamond center, and blue enamel striped wings, all aglitter with small rose-cut diamonds. Her legs (and even the reverse) is realistically hand engraved and textured. Made in France, circa 1890.
