ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
A rare and ravishing Victorian-era (late-19th century) double-strand coral necklace featuring an exquisite 1 and 1/8 inch wide French-made Etruscan Revival-style clasp exhibiting a coppery patina and centering on a 12 millimeter coral button. The double coral strands, by way of the Mediterranean Ocean (frutti de mare!), measuring 19 inches and 20 inches, graduate from about 4.5 mm. to 6 mm. and display a rich orange-salmon color. The large button coral the clasp can be worn in front or back. Circa 1875, French eagle assay mark on clasp.
