'Gem' 3.23 Carat Ceylon Ruby and Diamond Ring - AGL
ABOUT THIS RING
Few, if any, rubies come in a red--highlighted with just a hint of fuchsia--as richly saturated as this absolutely gemmy, luscious, crystalline, and radiant beauty. Weighing 3.23 carats, the spectacular gemstone is accompanied by a gemological report from the AGL stating: Low Temperature Heat, Excellent Stability, Ceylon (Sri Lanka) origin. (Although there's no way to prove it, we were told by the previous owner that the stone was originally unheated until it was subjected to a torch by an unsuspecting jeweler. However, one rarely sees 'low temp heat' on AGL certs, so we tend to believe it.) The resplendent ruby is beautifully presented in glorious Art Deco style in a hand fabricated platinum mounting between pairs of sizable icy-white baguette diamonds, further embellished all around by small glittering round diamonds arrayed over elegant neoclassical scroll motifs. A fully hand engraved ring shank adds the finishing touch to this exceptional and exceptionally stunning trophy ring. An extraordinary find--if the stone was unheated, it would easily triple in value! 2.49 carat total diamond weight. Currently ring size 6 1/4.
