Lustrous and luminous gems of the sea - in ancient China pearls were once believed to provide protection from fire-breathing dragons. Since it's not likely that you will encounter such a creature in the 21st century, may we suggest you wear them simply for their stunning beauty. The glorious golden South Sea pearl in this alluring jewel is set at a slight angle in a bold asymmetrical mounting, shimmering on one side with 34 pave-set round brilliant-cut diamonds. A striking and wondrous work of wearable art. Total diamond weight, .63 carat. Pearl measures 12.9 x 12.6 x 13.7mm. In platinum (creating a striking contrast), currently ring size 6 1/2.
