ABOUT THIS BROOCH

Known as The King of Bling, the father of modern jewelry, and the golden engineer, Anglo-Italian designer Andrew Grima was a jeweler to the royals (he designed one of Queen Elizabeth's favorite brooches) and the well-heeled. His talent and highly distinctive style were recognized by numerous awards, including The Duke of Edinburgh's Prize for elegant design and a record 11 De Beers Diamonds International Awards. This striking vintage 1980s brooch begs you to use your imagination. Is it a torch? A cactus? Whichever way your eye beholds this beauty, it is an exquisite piece of Grima's artistry. The brooch centers on a glistening 20.50 carat oval sky-blue aquamarine embraced by high polish and textured gold and is accented north and south by icy-white round brilliant cut diamonds. Who knew you'd have the opportunity to join his cadre of faithful—and fashionable—followers? Hand fabricated in 18K yellow and white gold.

About Estate Jewelry

Though it calls to mind grand manor houses in the English countryside, “estate” is just a fancy way of describing any piece of jewelry with a previous owner. That’s pretty much everything in our collection. We tend to use “estate” to refer to pieces in our collection with a more modern or contemporary design, or vintage-inspired designs. These perennial gems are selected in harmony with our original antique and vintage pieces…they’re just a little bit younger!

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
