ABOUT THIS RING

We have distilled and refined the enduring elegance of early-20th-century styles to newly present original vintage diamonds and gemstones in our own line of vintage-inspired jewels and engagement rings, using 100% recycled precious metals and conflict-free diamond melee. In the case at hand (and hopefully on yours!) we've created a new home for a gleaming, elegantly proportioned 1.08 carat icy-white emerald-cut diamond, accompanied by a GIA Diamond Grading Report stating: E color - VS1 clarity. The scintillating stone is now presented in classic, glorious Art Deco style in our own glittering diamond-set buckle motif mounting, rendered in lustrous platinum and finished with cool fluted hand engraving on each shoulder. A sleek, chic and shining timeless treasure. Total diamond weight, 1.20 carats. Currently ring size 6 1/4.

The Lang Collection

It’s no secret that our first love here at Lang is the all-original antique or vintage engagement ring. It’s what we’re known for! But sometimes an original ring comes to us with a setting that’s simply too well-worn to use, or we get a “loose” vintage diamond in need of a new home. For these lonely stones, we’ve created a line of vintage-inspired engagement rings --faithful to the classics, but built to last through the next few lifetimes..

How to Pair Your Wedding Band

You found your ideal, beautiful, one-of-a-kind antique or vintage engagement ring… and then realized that you need a wedding band to go with it. Pairing the two can be tricky, since vintage engagement rings rarely come with matching bands, and many modern bands don’t accommodate vintage shapes and designs. So we created a line of vintage-style wedding bands, modeled after original pieces from our collection.

About Vintage Jewelry

Like fine wine, fine jewelry also has a “vintage”—the design period or era from which it hails. Victorian or Edwardian, Art Deco or Retro, each piece in our collection has its own special pedigree. But just because one era ended and another began, it doesn’t mean that creative jewelry makers simply forgot the lessons of the past! Many of the jewels in our cases refuse to conform to a single design period, either by striking out on their own or showing the transition from one era to the next. When such daring dazzlers are over one hundred years old, they’re generally grouped in the antique category. Anything younger than that, but still made before 1970, fits the vintage label. Every iconic era yields both singular and transitional pieces, like the ones we’ve assembled here. Follow the link at the end of each section for more about the aesthetics and history of the period.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
