Mid-Century Opal and Rose-Cut Diamond Necklace
Unique, unusual, rare and gorgeous, this 15 1/2 inch choker necklace is composed of 11 hand engraved scalloped border plaques connected by double gold chains, each centered with a light pastel colored opal of varying shapes and sizes, framed by glittering rose-cut diamonds. The opals and diamonds appear to be of 19th century Victorian vintage, whereas the plaques may have been produced at a later date, most likely during the mid-20th-century Victorian revival period. A truly singular and stunning vintage jewel.
