Orange Hessonite Garnet and Diamond Halo Ring
ABOUT THIS RING
Garnets never cease to amaze; here is yet another outstanding stone. A 16.70-carat hessonite garnet--gleaming and glowing with glorious shades of honey gold and vibrant orange--shines all around, courtesy of 18 super sparkling round brilliant diamonds, punctuated east and west by small sprays of lively marquise diamonds. The captivating combination of color and all-out sparkle dazzles atop a luminous platinum shank. In a word, "Wow!" Total diamond weight, 1.12 carats. Currently ring size 6 1/2. A note about hessonite garnets: The crystal growth structure creates an optical appearance called roiling. It can be seen in the image but in person needs to be viewed with magnification. This large specimen stone also has some small apatite or calcite crystals typically found in hessonite, a few of which can be seen without magnification. The main source for hessonite garnets is Sri Lanka. Truly a special gem.
