ABOUT THESE EARRINGS

During the 13th century, Italian merchant and explorer Marco Polo traveled to Serendid (Sri Lanka) where he encountered sapphires. Clearly, he was smitten as he described them in great detail and included them in his Book of the Marvels of the World. The marvelous sapphires in these delightful drops do not require fancy embellishments--their intense deep denim-blue hue makes a stunning stand-alone statement. Glistening and glimmering in brightly burnished bezels, these beauties dangle daintily from elegant ear wires. Total sapphire weight, 2.00 carats. In 18K gold.

About Estate Jewelry

Though it calls to mind grand manor houses in the English countryside, “estate” is just a fancy way of describing any piece of jewelry with a previous owner. That’s pretty much everything in our collection. We tend to use “estate” to refer to pieces in our collection with a more modern or contemporary design, or vintage-inspired designs. These perennial gems are selected in harmony with our original antique and vintage pieces…they’re just a little bit younger!

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
