ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

The neck chain as adornment goes way back. In fact, among many other ornaments, a bevy of gold chains was found in the tomb of Queen Puabi, buried in 2600 B.C. in the First Dynasty of Ur (Ancient Iraq). Fast forward to the present where, throughout the ages, the ubiquitous chain has not lost its luster. And, of course, Tiffany & Co., the purveyor of pretty things in bright blue boxes, has contributed its fair share. This one could not be more perfect or versatile. Crafted in brightly polished 14K gold, the woven rounded links, evocative of wheat, create an exquisitely simple chain that is ultra-chic worn alone, is an elegant carrier for a pendant or char and can be layered with other necklaces. Long live the chain! Measures 16 inches.

About Estate Jewelry

Though it calls to mind grand manor houses in the English countryside, “estate” is just a fancy way of describing any piece of jewelry with a previous owner. That’s pretty much everything in our collection. We tend to use “estate” to refer to pieces in our collection with a more modern or contemporary design, or vintage-inspired designs. These perennial gems are selected in harmony with our original antique and vintage pieces…they’re just a little bit younger!

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
