ABOUT THIS JEWELRY

Big Hair (or big personality!) calls for big jewels, and nothing fits the bill quite like this majestic, intensely glamorous 1980s vintage torsade and tassel earring combination. Exotic 18 karat gold pear-shaped earrings, studded with sizable glowing green emerald cabochons and sparkling pink tourmalines, connect to detachable dancing emerald and tourmaline tassels for ravishing earrings that can be worn two ways.

Glittering twisted strands of plummy tourmaline and deep green faceted emerald rondelles form a magnificent matching necklace that closes with a beautifully engineered 18K yellow and white gold clasp that twists easily on and off. Dramatic, singular and seductive! Total (non-bead) gemstone weight, 8.25 carats. Necklace measures 20 to 18 inches long, depending on how tightly it is twisted, by about 1-inch wide. Earrings measure 2 1/2 inches long by 3/4 inch wide.

About Estate Jewelry

Though it calls to mind grand manor houses in the English countryside, “estate” is just a fancy way of describing any piece of jewelry with a previous owner. That’s pretty much everything in our collection. We tend to use “estate” to refer to pieces in our collection with a more modern or contemporary design, or vintage-inspired designs. These perennial gems are selected in harmony with our original antique and vintage pieces…they’re just a little bit younger!

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
