- American Silversmith, known as “Silversmith to the Stars”
- Known for Modernist Designs
- Married to Becca Blanchard, daughter of silversmith Porter Blanchard
- Trained as a silversmith by Porter Blanchard – He eventually took over Blanchard’s Sunset Strip location to go into business with his own designs
- During World War II Allan was contracted by the Gilfillan Company to make a highly classified silver item. Unbeknownst to him, it was a vital part of a secret radar system.
- Private students included actors James Gleason, Katherine Hepburn and Margaret Sullivan.

- Dwight D. Eisenhower – Golf Trophy
- Adlai Stevenson – campaign button depicting a sterling silver shoe sole with a hole in it.
- John F. Kennedy – Coffee Urn for a fund-raising event
- Governor Pat Brown – flatware for the Governor’s mansion with the state’s official seal
- Winston Churchill – Silver Hairbrush
- Convair Aviation Company – pin for the first seven astronauts, The design was also displayed at the entrance of NASA headquarters, Florida.
