Victorian revolving box locket brooch, circa 1850. Combination of 18K gold (the actual center frame and hinge assembly) and gold filled (the outer twisted wire border), with white metal double backed security pin stems. Measures 1-3/4″ x 1-3/8″ x 3/8″ thick. With the original glass crystals front and back. The revolving box pin is depicted on page 172 of Jewelry In America 1600-1900 by Martha Gandy Fales.
