Victorian/Art Deco Emerald, Diamond and Enamel Pendant/Brooch
ABOUT THIS JEWELRY
Yep. You read that right - Victorian/Art Deco! We've never seen anything like this amazing amalgamation of disparate, almost opposite, design periods. Our best guess is that a master jeweler from the 1920s expertly and seamlessly reworked a brooch from the 1880s. The delicately ornamented oval centerpiece (fashioned in classic Etruscan Revival style) and surrounding pearls and black enamel are consummate, tried and true Victoriana, while the geometric green emeralds, bezel-set old mine-cut, and European-cut diamonds, also accented with glossy black enamel, are quintessential Art Deco. Put them together and we have this truly unique, exceptional, and striking wearable work of art. The glistening crystalline green Colombian emeralds total over 3.00 carats, and the five diamonds total .85 carat. Hand fabricated in 14K yellow gold, this pendant necklace/brooch measures just over 1 5/8 inches by 1 1/4 inches. The new double chain measures 18-20 inches.
