ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

A masterful jeweler carved this distinguished woman in profile, creatively using the layered colors of this banded agate with striking effect. Fashioned in low relief, the fair-skinned beauty is adorned in pearls, crowned with a headdress in shades of brown, and is set against a deep coffee-colored backdrop rimmed with a white and brown circle. The cameo rests in an engraved bezel framed by a halo of lustrous natural pearls and glinting rose-cut diamonds and suspends from a 17-inch box chain by way of a bail set with old mine-cut diamonds. The chain shown is sold separately. An exquisite work of wearable art. Total diamond weight, .70 carat. Hand fabricated in 18K yellow gold. The cameo is engraved on the back with, "B & ER, rsGG." Condition note: one small diamond is a replacement round brilliant cut.
