ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
14k, late Victorian, black onyx locket, in a decorative shield shape, featuring a central prong-set pearl. The back of the locket showcases an oval compartment, currently holding a child's photograph, but originally intended for a lock of hair. The bail of the locket is adorned with black enamel in a foliate motif. The pendant measures approximately 2 1/2" in length, including the bail, and 1 1/2" in width. The locket is in excellent condition. Shown on an antique 14 karat rosy yellow gold 24 inch chain, $960. Chain available upon request.
