ABOUT THIS NECKLACE

Fabulous! Dating back to the mid-19th century--most likely France or England (but unmarked)-- this glossy cobalt blue enamel shield-shaped pendant is overlaid with a regal design, aglitter with numerous rose-cut diamonds and outfitted on the reverse with an open locket compartment (framed all around with artful hand engraving). This exquisite piece of artistry suspends from matching bar links that transition to a supple (original) chain. An exceptional and exceptionally striking Victorian (or French Second Empire) collectable keepsake jewel. Total diamond weight, .75 carat. Hand fabricated in 18K yellow gold, the necklace measures16 inches (extended by a 1-inch, slightly different, piece of chain at the clasp). The pendant/locket measures 1 1/2 inches.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
