The ever captivating cameo--it is as alluring today as it was in Victorian times. In this one, the lovely lady in profile (artfully carved in shell), is framed by an array of decorative elements--luminous white seed pearls, black enamel, and a fine gold rope--and suspends from a 20-inch cable chain via a matching pearl-dotted bail. The locket opens to reveal a hinged glass-covered photo compartment. Circa 1885. In 18K gold.
