ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
Whereas most Victorian-era jewels are intricately ornamented, this 19th century pendant is distinguished by its striking simplicity. A sizable, glossy elongated oval cabochon coral, imbued with lovely variegated pink hues, is presented within a concave dish-like frame, bordered inside by a fine rope strand. Hand fabricated in velvety 14K yellow gold, circa 1880. The pendant measures just over 1 1/8 inch by 7/8 inch and suspends from a newer 18K 16 inch chain. Converted from a brooch with vestiges of former pin stem on the reverse.
