ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
You don't want to cut the rug with just anyone, which is why you need this nifty dance card holder. We love repurposing interesting, obsolete and obscure accoutrement into something more useful - a necklace for instance! Formerly with an attached pinky ring, its original purpose was for the wearer to jot down the names of her intended dance partners and slip the 'dance card' between the halves of this lovely little shell (it opens and closes via the small sliding element), bringing proper etiquette to the dance floor--Victorian style. Fun to both wear and explain. Hand fabricated in 14K gold, circa 1875, the new chain measures 18 inches.
