ABOUT THIS BROOCH
"Thank Heaven For Little Girls," Maurice Chevalier famously sang in the 1957 motion picture musical, Gigi. About a century earlier, the commissioner of this exquisite Victorian jewel had the same sentiment in mind. A glass-covered, hand-tinted photo of a lovely little lass (softly faded by the sands of time) is encircled by glittering rose-cut diamonds (totaling .85 carat) set in silver between leafy neoclassical finials hand fabricated in textured gold with each accented by a few tiny rose cut diamonds. A precious original Victorian keepsake. It measures 1 5/8 inches across.
