ABOUT THIS RING
A pair of golden strikers, respectively crowned with a sparkling white European-cut diamond and a light green faceted round emerald, embrace cheek to cheek in this distinctive double snake ring hand fabricated and hand engraved in rich 18K yellow gold. An eye-catching and uncommon jewel which, for the unconventional, may even be worn as an engagement ring. Upon their betrothal, her beloved Albert presented the trendsetting Queen Victoria with such a ring, bejeweled with an emerald (her birthstone and a rare find in snake rings), rubies and diamonds. In their day, snakes were symbols of wisdom and commitment. Here's something else you might not know about Victoria and Albert: because she was already Queen when they fell in love, she had to propose to him! Circa 1980-1900. Currently ring size 9 1/2.
